Traveling used to be my whole personality. Then I landed here for the first time, years ago — the jewel of the Gulf, where life runs on a completely different frequency — and my standards moved to a point of no return. Every city since has been measured against this one.
The Detour
I wanted to stay longer on my last stop, stack more content, keep exploring. Reality checked me fast instead. The blatant difference in how you're treated depending on where you're from, and the quiet double standard on what your money is worth depending on your passport, wore me down within days. That kind of treatment is its own special exhaustion, and it has nothing to do with jet lag.
Europe is officially on pause.
